Put Me In, Coach: Arrowmen Go Head to Head at NOAC

Whether it was on the field or on the court, Arrowmen had friendly competition throughout NOAC through the conference-wide tournaments. From basketball to chess, there was a sport for everyone to play in, as Arrowmen and lodges vied to be crowned victors.

NOAC 2024 hosted the largest ultimate frisbee tournament of any conference to date! Each team consisted of seven players on the field and had an unlimited amount of substitutes. Lodges could also have more than one team sign up and compete. Congratulations to Alibamu Lodge, Tukabatchee Area Council, on winning the ultimate frisbee tournament!

On the basketball court, teams of five competed in the classic basketball tournament. Lodges could also have more than one team sign up and compete. Teams had unlimited substitutions. Congratulations to Illini Lodge, Prairielands Council, on winning the basketball tournament at NOAC 2024!

On the football field, teams of seven competed in the classic tournament style flag football competition. Golden Sun Lodge, Cornhusker Council, came away with the victory. Congratulations!

A perennial favorite among Arrowmen is gaga ball. This intense sport, played inside of a specially-designed pit, is a fast-paced variant of dodgeball. Pocumtuc Lodge, Western Massachusetts Council, was crowned the gaga ball champion at NOAC 2024!

Maybe competitive soccer was your sport? Teams of 8 went head to head in the conference tournament to find out who the NOAC champion is. Illini Lodge, Prairielands Council, came away with the victory here too, making them the only two-sport champion!

Arrowmen also got the chance to compete in several individual competitions that tested their physical and mental aptitude. A popular game based on an even more popular game show, OA Jeopardy!, was one such competition. Congratulations to Hannah Marik of Totanhan Nakaha Lodge, Northern Star Council for winning the NOAC 2024 OA Jeopardy! competition.

Also on the challenge lineup was a chess tournament. This game of strategy presented a unique challenge at NOAC 2024. At the end of the tournament, Owen Johnson of Nayawin Rar Lodge, Tuscarora Council was able to checkmate the competition and be crowned the winner!

The final two challenges were the Brotherhood 5K and the Dave Alexander Brotherhood Triathlon. These races encouraged Arrowmen to get active in individual competition. Congratulations to all of our gold medalists in these competitions:
